How does Twurdy calculate the page readability level?

Twurdy uses custom designed readability software that includes information about the number of words on the page, the average number of syllables in each word, the average sentence length and more to determine a pages readability level.

What is the difference between the different search types?

Just Twurdy - searches using Twurdy's basic algorithm with medium speed and medium results.

Simple Twurdy - searches using Twurdy's simple algorithm for fast speed but less accurate results

Twurdy with Pop - searches using Twurdy's most complex algorithm which includes looking up the popularity of words within the text. It has a slower speed with more accurate results.

Where does Twurdy get the search results from?

Twurdy retrieves search results from the Google(TM) search engine.

Is Twurdy free?

Yes, Twurdy is completely free to use.

What do I do if I find an error in the search results?

If you are experiencing errors whilst using Twurdy, please use the "contact us" form to tell us how you came across the error and the Twurdy team will endeavour to resolve the issue.

I disagree with some of the readability results. What should I do?

Twurdy's algorithm (though useful) will not provide fully accurate results for all webpages on the internet. The structure and nature of some pages will mean that Twurdy's readability level calculation is less useful than in many other pages. If you would like to report what you think is an invalid readability calculation for a page, then please use the Contact form.

What does Twurdy offer that other search engines do not?

Twurdy offers the same search results as other search engines but it also offers the added bonus of being able to tell whether or not you will be able to understand the content on the page before you click on it. This is a unique bonus.

Currently, the only way to do this, is to search for your webpage URL through the Twurdy search box on the home page. Your page will then come up in the search results with a readability level assigned to it.
